Tuition Waiver Process
The MSCF Contract (Article 24.Section 3. Tuition Waiver at Minnesota State Colleges Subd.1. General Provisions.) entitles unlimited full-time faculty to enroll on a space available basis in courses at any Minnesota State College without payment of tuition. Bemidji State University and Southwest Minnesota State University will qualify for tuition waivers.
Temporary faculty are eligible for the tuition waiver with these conditions (page 116 of the faculty contract). Note: teaching at least 12 credits in one semester is the threshold.
- based on assignments held on a semester by semster basis (no waiting period like other contracts)
- if assigned to 12 or more credits in fall, the faculty can use at any time during the academic year up to 12 credits for themselves or 8 credits for dependents
- if assigned to 12 or more credits in spring, the faculty gets an additional 12 credits for themselves and an additional 8 for dependents
- no carry over from one academic year to the next
